Nominated for the Kerrang 2008 awards for ‘British Newcomer of the Year’ Glamour of the Kill have risen in to the headlights of most hard rock radio stations across the British isles. Their latest release is their selftitled EP which contains 5 songs of hard rock/melo-metal/post-hardcore that are not the usual one day-flies coming from the metal ranks.
The EP is a fast little compilation of the latest recordings from the quartet which is the messenger for their new CD. Metal Hammer magazine rated them 10/10 for their sheer Killswitch Engage/Alexisonfire fuse with classic rock.
The EP is sure one of the top new-metal-band releases of the year but still their sound is not as distinct and original as other this years metal releases, it’s just slightly better than good. Although, the partly ‘boyish’ voices of the ensemble make their sound fall out flatter than it truly is.
The quality, technique and songs are surely worth checking out the name and getting the releases of these UK hotshots. Certainly better than Bullet for My Valentine, by miles.
